Wayne County, known as the “Gateway to Amish Country”, has rural charm with big-city features. Rolling hills, woods, and farmland combine with a host of cultural activities like opera, ballet, and theater.

Orrville is the home of the J.M. Smucker Company and Wayne College, a branch of the University of Akron. This is a small city that thinks big, including running its own electric utility. Orr Park is a forty-acre green space that features a pool, bathhouse, sports fields, picnic pavilions, and a performing-arts pavilion. The park also includes the Orrville Walking Trail and Wetlands.

The city of Wooster is the seat of Wayne County and its main cultural center. The city is home to the Wayne Center for the Arts, the Ohio Light Opera, and the Wooster Symphony Orchestra. The College of Wooster is also located here, offering educational and cultural opportunities for residents. Wooster Community Hospital has been named one of the nation’s "100 Top Hospitals" by Thomson Healthcare for its excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, and efficiency.

Apartments in Wayne County range from one- to two-bedroom units. Rents are slightly lower than the average for the greater Cleveland area.
