Although it traces its history back to 1905, Overland Park, Kansas is a relatively young city; it was incorporated in 1960. Since then, it has grown to be the second most populous city in Kansas.

Overland Park was created to be a planned, self-sustaining community, and it has lived up to that vision. Today, the city is home to the headquarters of Sprint Nextel Corporation as well as several Fortune 500 companies. It was named one of "Top 100 Places To Live" in 2010 by Relocate America due to its low crime rate, excellent schools, and recreation options.

The city offers residents plenty to do. Options include a soccer complex, two community centers, two golf courses, seventy-eight parks, seven pools, and a seventeen-mile bike and hike trail. There’s also the 300-acre Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, built to showcase environmental and ecological issues. For the kids, there’s the twelve-acre Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead, which offers little ones the chance to experience a taste of farm life.

A search of the Kansas City classifieds nets you a great selection of rental apartments in the Overland Park area, from one-bedroom units to three-bedroom residences. Prices are within the median for the Kansas City metro area.
