Dynamic and diverse, the University District is Columbus’ most densely populated area. North of downtown, the district is made up of several smaller neighborhoods that surround the Ohio State University campus.

Proximity to a major university provides a wealth of cultural and educational opportunities to residents as well as providing a lively population of students from all over the world. Shopping and dining options abound, with something for just about every taste and budget.

The district prides itself as having a place for everyone. Among the historic district are Victorian mansions, single-family homes, and affordable rentals. Many of the residences in the district reflect the history of the area and Columbus as a whole. Much of the district is eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. Properties available for rent in the University District are usually between 70 and 110 years old; hardwood floors and wide natural wood trim are common.

Apartments in the district range from studios to three-bedroom units. Rents run about average for apartments in Columbus Ohio.
