Lee’s Summit is one of the "Top 100 Cities in America." Home to more than 90,000 residents, it is close to all Kansas City has to offer. The city’s parks provide residents with many recreational options, including an outdoor aquatic center. Also found in this city are historic Missouri Town 1855, the Lee’s Summit Historic Cemetery, and the 915-acre Powell Gardens.
The city of Grandview, population 28,000, offers quiet neighborhoods, busy shopping districts, and the 4,830-acre Longview Lake recreation area. The community is particularly proud of its state-of-the art community center, called The View, which features two pools, a fitness center, and many classes and special events.
Other cities in the Southland include Belton, Harrisonville, Raymore, and the Village of Loch Lloyd. These smaller cities give residents the best of both worlds: the amenities of Kansas City and the sense of community that comes from a small town.
