Where can I find a nice family suburb close to downtown Columbus?

Just ten minutes from downtown Columbus is the Herb Capital of Ohio: the city of Gahanna. The city was named by Money magazine as one of the Top 100 Places to Live in the U.S.

The city offers a lot to see and do. Residents enjoy premier dining and shopping along with a host of recreational and educational activities. Creekside Gahanna is the area’s newest entertainment, business, and residential development along the banks of the Big Walnut Creek. Gahanna has over 11 public parks with tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, walking trails, and more. Five-acre Creekside Park, the centerpiece of the historic Olde Gahanna area, offers walking paths, picnic areas, paddle boat rides, fishing, and swimming. The Gahanna Historical Settlement takes visitors back to life in the 1800s.

Some of the major attractions in the city are the hands-on experiences, including learning how to use herbs for cooking, crafts, aromatherapy, and more at the Ohio Herb Education Center; and wine and chocolate tasting at Sher Bliss.

For three days each summer, the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival brings hundreds of musicians, food vendors, and artisans from all over the region and has become a summer must-do for families.

Apartments in Gahanna range from one-bedroom to two-bedroom units. Rents are about the average for other Ohio apartments for rent in the greater Columbus area.
