Where can I find a quality dog park?
The state of Washington is a heaven for dogs. It has so many forests to explore, trails to sniff, lakes and ocean to swim in.
But let’s face it; when residents of Washington rent apartments, they are most likely looking at the metropolitan areas, far from those beautiful forests. Therefore, dog owners need a quality dog park, preferably one with an off-leash area. How else are you going to throw the ball around with your best friend?
If your neighborhood selection is based heavily on the vicinity of an off-leash park, consider this option:
Fort Steilacoom Park, Lakewood, WA
This is the best dog park in Washington!
- The park is divided into sections for big dogs and little dogs.
- It has acres of open running space (as well as shady areas full of bushes ready for sniffing).
- Dogs must be sociable and current on all vaccinations and licenses. They must also be under their owner’s control at all times and leashed when not in designated off-lead areas. The leash and scoop laws are strictly enforced here.
