The Greater Hilltop area encompasses several residential neighborhoods on the west side of Columbus, including Highland West, Wilshire Heights, and Westgate. It gets its name because it sits on top of a rise that slopes down to the Scioto River.

Highland West is known as Columbus’ first suburb. It is a diverse area with an international feel. Stroll through the area’s parks and you are likely to see games of rugby and cricket in addition to baseball and basketball.

Wilshire Heights is a neighborhood that takes pride in its history. Many of the homes in this area are built in the English Cottage Revival style, which was popular in the early 20th century.

Westgate is considered one of Columbus’ most picturesque and affordable historic neighborhoods. It was named one of the 10 best neighborhoods in the city by Columbus Monthly. The neighborhood is home to the 46 acre Westgate Park, which includes tennis courts, athletic fields, and a fishing pond. The community here is active and friendly, taking great pride in the sense of neighborhood residents share.

Apartments in the Hilltop area range from one to three bedrooms and are priced at about the average for apartments for rent in Columbus.
