Westlake is an affluent suburb just twelve miles west of downtown Cleveland. It has been named as Cleveland’s number-one suburb by Cleveland Magazine and as one of the "top 100 places to live in America" by Relocate America.
The city’s school system is consistently rated "excellent" by the state of Ohio, and a satellite campus of Cleveland State University opened in Westlake in 2003. The area’s parks and recreation facilities include the Westlake Recreation Center, which offers more than 700 programs for children and adults. The Recreation Center is located in an 86-acre park and offers sports fields, a five-acre lake stocked with fish, a sledding hill, playgrounds, and a 1.2-mile running/walking/biking trail. The park is also home to the City of Westlake Summer Concert Series. Other amenities include five swimming pools, a fitness center, and three nine-hole golf courses.
Westlake is home to Crocker Park, a 75-acre mixed-use town center with retail, office, and residential space. The 12 city-block area features popular retail stores, great restaurants, and luxury apartments and town homes. Crocker Park plays host to the city’s Fourth of July celebration, called Liberty Fest.
Rentals in Westlake range from one to three-bedroom units. Prices are higher than average for the apartments for rent Cleveland Ohio has to offer.
