Where can I find an upscale suburban community close to downtown Columbus?

The suburbs northeast of Columbus area are some of the best places in the country to live—all within 15 minutes of downtown.

The City of Gahanna has been named as one of Money magazine’s Top 100 Places to Live. The area is home to herb gardens, parks, nature preserves, and the Gahanna Historical Settlement. Each year the city hosts the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival, attracting music lovers from all over the state.

New Albany describes itself as “a master planned community built upon the best traditions of small-town America.” The affluent area boasts a nationally-ranked school system, a pedestrian-friendly village square, and a state-of-the-art performing arts center. The village plan includes 27 miles of leisure trails with more to come.

Westerville has also been named as one of Money magazine’s Best Places to Live. The city has more than 20,000 street trees, more than 40 parks with about 23 miles of leisure paths, as well as a community recreation center.

Apartments in Northeast Columbus are easy to find and range in size from studios to three-bedroom units. Rent is a bit higher than the average for the greater Columbus area.
