If you can’t find anything you like when searching for apartments in East Houston, why not go outside the city and see what the suburban areas have to offer? Towns such as Deer Park and Channelview are possibilities, and if you don’t mind driving a little bit more, you may even want to consider looking for rentals in the Baytown area. Situated on the northern shore of Galveston Bay, this city is only 30 minutes from downtown Houston. As an added perk, Baytown is only 50 miles west of Beaumont.

Those who enjoy outdoor activities will find Baytown a good home base, as there is plenty to do right in the area. Sailing, fishing and golfing are all popular activities and there is also a nature preserve in town. Over 40 acres of parks are located throughout the city, providing plenty of places to picnic and relax. A community center and sports complex round out the recreational opportunities in the area. In-town shopping is a pleasure and the Houston Raceway Park is also located in this area.
