The Arena District covers 75 acres and is home to: the Nationwide Arena, where the NHL Blue Jackets play; Huntington Park, home of minor league baseball’s Columbus Clippers; the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion, an outdoor music venue; and the Arena Grand Theatre.
Once the site of the Ohio Penitentiary, the area has been revitalized for mixed use, and combines commercial and residential properties in a pedestrian-friendly urban setting. The overhaul has made the Arena District one of the most popular entertainment destinations in the city. It houses the Columbus Children’s Theatre and the North Market—a collection of 30 food vendors.
McFerson Commons is the district’s main green space and the center of activity during the summer months. Residents often gather here to play kickball.
