Indian River County, located in south-central Florida, is made up of towns such as Vero Beach, Fellsmere, Indian River Shores, Orchid and Sebastian. This region is a bit less populated than its neighbors to the north and south, making it a great place for those looking to live near the coast and have a bit of quiet. Apartments in Indian River County can be found in all five of its districts. This region has a good deal of natural beauty and a lot of rural appeal. For example, Fellsmere is a town of about 3,800 people where the economy is built on citrus crops and cattle.

Melbourne International Airport is only 40 minutes away, so traveling somewhere by plane is not a problem. Orlando is less than two hours by car from most of the towns in Indian River County, so big city access is not an issue either. In addition, Miami is about three hours to the south and Palm Beach is around an hour away. Go-Line bus service operates 11 fixed routes in the county, making it easy to get around within the area. This region of Florida is great for people who enjoy a less crowded atmosphere, but who want to live within easy reach of a big city.
