Beautiful Community & Exceptional Leasing Experience — Just Needs More Fee Transparency
I recently toured and signed a lease at Honeycutt Run in Maricopa, AZ, and overall, my experience was very positive.
First, the property itself is beautiful—very clean, quiet, and well-maintained. I also appreciated the added sense of security with cameras throughout the community. The fitness center is a great amenity, and I loved that there’s even a bathroom inside. That said, there’s definitely room to enhance it—I noticed space for additional equipment like a stair master and a ski machine,... which would make it even better.
The apartment features were also a highlight for me. I really liked the tall ceilings and doors, and the barn door in the master bedroom added a nice modern touch.
What truly stood out, though, was the leasing experience—specifically working with Hailey. She was beyond attentive, patient, and kind throughout the entire process. My mom and I had a lot of questions, and she never once seemed irritated or rushed. She responded to emails quickly and even followed up with calls to make sure we fully understood everything.
What I appreciated most was how genuine she felt. It didn’t come across like she was just trying to make a sale. At one point, my mom wasn’t completely confident in an apartment she liked, and Hailey encouraged us to keep looking until we found the right one. That level of honesty and care really meant a lot—especially since we’re moving cross-country and the process can feel overwhelming. She made us feel reassured every step of the way.
The only downside I experienced was with pricing transparency, and this is not a reflection of Hailey but rather the management company (Mark-Taylor). Not all fees were clearly listed on the initial pricing sheet. For example, there is a monthly admin fee of $14.95, along with conservice and additional community-related charges that were not disclosed upfront.
I strongly believe that all costs—whether billed directly by management or through third-party services—should be clearly outlined from the beginning. The first time a resident sees these fees should not be during the lease signing process. Transparency is key, and it helps build trust. People will still choose to move forward if they feel informed.
Overall, I’m happy with my decision and excited to move in. With a bit more transparency around fees and a small upgrade to the fitness center, this community would be close to perfect.
