Property management is not helpful
I have lived here for 2 years. It is ok, but recently I have had a lot of difficulty getting in touch with the property management about repairs. I submitted a work request a week ago because my hot water heater isn't working, and have called multiple times but have not heard anything. My car was also broken into here last year. The apartment itself is nice with a good location, but I would look elsewhere if you are looking for management to actually respond when you have issues.

DO NOT MOVE HERE
Save yourself from a year of HOA harassment and DO NOT MOVE HERE. A few months into our lease my gf and I were experiencing some strange problems. We kept seeing a woman constantly monitoring/photographing the windows of every single unit in the villa. We figured this person must own/rent property here, so we let it go. A few weeks later we realize this happens to be the board of director for red rox villa, Cindy. I wasn't aware that the Board of Directors of the HOA main duty was to look into... every apartment window multiple times a week and take photographs. I've been talking to members of the community and they have had very similar issues.
The primary purpose of a homeowners association is to manage a neighborhood's common areas such as roads, parks and pools.
I understand that homeowners/tenants have to follow the HOA rule book, but does this justify constant window inspection?!?
Do not judge this book by its cover, you will be very sorry and unhappy here, if you value your privacy.

Red Rox
I have lived at the Red Rox for nearly a year. They were extremely difficult to get into contact with, as no one really works at the front office. The people in there are from the Homeowners Association and are not representatives of the complex. After three or four phone calls to their main line, we were able to get into contact with someone.
First impressions that the grounds were impressive, they take a lot of pride in maintaining the plants and outdoor amenities (so much so that landscaping... is at least 4 days a week and the noise starts at 6am) - oh and the windows are paper thin. The overall apartment quality varies because they have been turned into condos and the renters may upgrade the devices/counters/flooring.
Now you expect some amount of noise living on the second of three floors, but when the music below you is so loud that the bass gives you headache and whenever it starts you have to leave (even though you pay an arm and a leg to live here)... it gets pretty aggravating. There is also noise above you that resembles a elephant in high heels pacing on hardwood. I mentioned those windows earlier, and so be prepared to perfectly hear everyone's conversations after they've parked their cars and are coming inside (oh, and also when they go outside, open their doors, start their car, idle... and then leave). You can hear everything people say outside.
The appliances are upgraded and nice - never had one malfunction, other than the dishwasher failing to drain. The carpet was clean but old and so it wears down easily. They are newly painted. The doors have damaged weather stripping and so don't be surprised if the air conditioner is always on.
Overall the apartments are a good quality. If you can stand/get lucky with your neighbors, then good on you. Also believed that these apartments are incredibly overpriced. No grocery stores/restaurants within a 15 minute driving distance. It's a great distance from the airport (maybe a 5 minute drive) as well as ASU, downtown Scottsdale. You're also right next to the 202 and so getting to downtown Phoenix is also really easy.

Love this place
The Red Rox is not just an apartment to me, it is my home. I have lived there for 5 years and hope to for years to come. The grounds are well taken care of, the pool is beautiful, and fitness center is always clean. The location is great as well, close to anything you could need or want to do.
