In the beginning my experience at Royal El Con was good. In the last few years the criminal activity has increased exponentially drug dealing, prostitution and vagrancy are a daily occurrence.It is not uncommon to hear gunshots all night long. There are many unoccupied unsecured apartments that attract the homeless.There is trash everywhere that never gets picked up and dogs roam off leash and deficate throughout the property. When discussing concerns with management the usual response is... nothing gets done. If there is a situation where you need assistance from the office you will find that no one answers the phone or the office remains closed during operation hours leaving tenants with no recourse. The police are here continually for disputes among tenants because management does not do appropriate background checks on those they accept rent applications from. The place is full of drug dealers and the management continues to look the other way as long as they get there cut. The cops don't bother showing up there anymore because they are tired of cleaning up the mess that management continues to let in. No background checks are done here at all

This property is refreshingly well cared for having been built in 1964. I have plush carpet and plenty of storage space. The pool is kept clean. I also like the laundry room. The management, Beverly, meets you where you are and provides what she can. Because the apts are all brick they are quiet inside. Outside the other occupants are polite and considerate. This apt was not my 1st choice, but I'm not disappointed.
