Graduated and Looking

Graduated and Looking

I myself will be facing the impending graduation date this December.  I think the most intimidating thing about being done with your college career is what’s to come after that traditional hat toss…  The job search.  These days, getting a job seems to be next to impossible.  I know I have a lot of questions on where to start, as does the rest of the graduating world. Did they receive your resume? Yes they did, they typically have a lot to go through.  They are going to be looking for the best person for the job.  It’s your job to stay on top of it. Why do they ask the same questions you’ve already answered? They want to see how you answer and how you communicate your thoughts to them.  Maybe they already have the answer, but that’s not always what they’re looking for. What do they look for in an interview? They want to see the real you.  Dress professional, but what’s comfortable to you.  Answer respectfully, but don’t be afraid to let your personality show.  If you’re humorous, make an appropriate joke.  If you’re insightful, say something that’s inspired you.  Let your colors show.  They want to know what they’re hiring.  They already know you’re qualified or they wouldn’t interview you, so now you need to stand out.  Show them why you’re great.   Just be sure to not give up and never be afraid to put yourself out there!  The right job is out there for you, just be yourself!   Information and image from http://www.survivingcollege.com/ Job Hunt article
