Maybe your parents have said it to you every day since May? Well, there is a lot more to it than just getting out of the house. Yes, it allows you to earn some fun money for the summer, and even gives you some for going back to school if you are smart and save up what you’ve earned. However, it is also creating a network of coworkers and managers in your life that will help you to land a job once you are out of college. Getting your degree is a big deal, however, it does not guarantee you a career. Pick Up Around the House Want to show Mom and Dad a little gratitude for letting you live at home for free this summer? Do your part and help them out with the chores. It shows them you are growing up and not taking their help for granted. Trust me, you are going to need their help throughout college and beyond. You may as well set a good example for your siblings, impress your parents, and take a little bit of personal responsibility. Look at it this way, even if your parents overlook your willingness to help clean up, at least you get some cleaning practice for your own apartment back at school. And most importantly, it shows your parents that you are taking your college experience seriously and trying to get everything you possibly can out of it. Yes, compared to your amazing off-campus college apartment, living back at home may seem a little dull at first. But it’s all what you make of it.
