Mobile Furniture – Making the Most of Your Space

Mobile Furniture – Making the Most of Your Space

It always seems that just as we feel at home in our apartment it’s time to move again. For most young people, one year leases are the way we live and that means frequent moves. With less ties to the area and no family to worry about, 20-somethings are usually the first to be relocated and are more likely to move for a job. Taking on a new adventure is great, but moving can really be a pain in the you know what. And no matter how many tips you read, you can still fall short. So, we’re breaking down some mobile furniture options that provide a much easier and that can be used anywhere in your home!

Futon:

A futon is great because it can be used in the living room as a couch or in your bedroom to create a sitting area. It can also be made into a bed for expected (and unexpected) guests and is a great make-shift bed even for you. A bed can sometimes cost more to move than just buying something new. Ditch your bed before the move and use the futon in the meantime before you get a new one!

Folding Chairs:

It’s always great to have some chairs for extra seating when you have people over that can be used as dining chairs as well! These inexpensive chairs from Ikea are great because they go in every room, can be stored away when not in use and are extremely durable. Use at your desk, in your kitchen or even outside! Storage Ottoman:

Check out bigger ottomans that can double as a table with a tray or that come with trays themselves. This one from Target is a great multifunctional piece that is lucrative in every room in the house. Put your feet up or enjoy a meal with the family all in one place. Use in your room, den and beyond. Mobile Furniture

Round Bistro Table:

This is a great versatile piece that can fit into smaller spaces than a dining table. Perfect for the kitchen, in the foyer, as a worktable or as a game table, this is a great investment. If you choose a table made of quality wood with classic lines, you’ll find ways to use it in your home for a long time. Also, you’ll be able to easily repaint, stain or lacquer to update its look. Bar Cart:

I know what you’re thinking, this doesn’t sound like a necessity for your home. But think again! A bar cart is great for its intended purposes, but can also be used to store display pretty much anything. In the bathroom it’s perfect for toiletries. In your room it can hold all of your books and knick-knacks. It’s great in the kitchen to hold dishes. And the fact that most bar carts are on wheels, make them even more lucrative. When selecting pieces for your home, you’re going to want to try and chose furniture you’ll use for years to come. It also helps if these pieces are also collapsible, easy to pack, light and adaptable, should you have to move.
