Yellow

This room incorporates this bright trend without it being too overwhelming.  Instead, this living room is calming and fresh. You can also bring the feeling of the outdoors in with flowers from your garden! Yellow sunflowers, marigolds, and daffodils can give your space just enough yellow for it to really stand out. Plus, flowers will make your space smell just like spring.

The yellow rug, towels, and organizer between the two sinks automatically brighten up this dark bathroom.  Use yellow to your advantage:  if there is a décor piece you want to focus on in your space, make it stand out by having it be yellow.

What’s great about yellow is that it goes well with nearly every other color, especially black. Use black furniture with yellow accent pieces for a more modern look!

If you’re a little uncertain on how to bring yellow into your apartment, start small. Yellow is definitely a bold and bright color.  However, you can use yellow in subtle ways in your space, like with your living room curtains or with your bathroom floor mat. Simple yellow décor pieces can transform a room into a more interesting space and will make your room pop!

Shades of Blue

What’s great about blue is that there are so many different shades you can incorporate into your apartment décor! You can have a turquoise or go with a darker shade of navy.  Either way, blue is definitely a trend for this spring.  You can always add small blue elements to your space, like these blue dining room chairs, since blue is also a very bold color.

Don’t you love these turquoise lamp shades? The pillows, painting, and lamps add just enough blue to this room without it being overwhelming. The turquoise also creates a beachy feel to your space.

Floral

Add floral elements to your apartment! Floral décor is very popular for spring because of the bright colors, which is inspired by the blooming flowers outside.  Floral is a great way to bring life to your space. Add floral pillows or curtains to instantly light up your room.  In addition, try adding Pantone’s Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid, into your floral pattern, since the color is vibrant and perfect for spring.

Floral DIY pieces are so easy to create as well!  For instance, these embroidery hoops are covered with pastel colored yarn and pieces of floral fabric.  It’s a very simple project, but it adds an instant pop to your room.
