Apartment Living BlogApartment Living › The Lazy Girl’s Guide To Cleaning

As much as you might hate cleaning, and unless you can afford a maid, it pretty much has to get done. If cleaning isn’t your strong suit, there are a few ways you can get around it. Here are a few tricks you can use to speed up, ease up, or straight up avoid cleaning your new apartment.

The Floor

Slide around the house in a pair of fuzzy socks and you’re a human swiffer! Not only are you dusting your floors, you’re exercising too!

The Microwave

Microwaves are probably the biggest plain to clean, but this trick will make it a lot easier! Pour water and white vinegar into a bowl and microwave it for a few minutes on high, wipe down the surface and you’re done!

The Blender

Everyone loves a healthy breakfast smoothie, but hates cleaning the blender. Fill it up with soap and water and let the blender do the work for you!

The Counter

Avoid having to wipe your counters after a messy meal prep by laying down a long sheet of plastic wrap before you start!

The Clothes

Chances are you have a few articles of clothing that are hand wash only, wash them while you’re in the shower to cut down on time and water.

The Dust

You can wipe down literally any surface with a dryer sheet, and it will pick something up.

Offer to Babysit

The best way to tackle a major mess? Enlist help! Offer to babysit a younger sibling, cousin, or nephew and ask them to help you clean in exchange for some pocket change or pizza!
