Old building, bare minimum maintenance
The layout includes 1 bedroom, open kitchen (separated by the counter), a spacious living room and one and a half bathrooms. The complex is gated, has a parking lot, a coin-op laundry room (where many of the machines tend to malfunction), a small gym (which lacks maintenance as well), and the neighborhood is generally safe. It is located right across the street from the Alhambra park.
The living rooms face west and the bed rooms face east towards the parking lot, so it gets hot in the bedroom... in the mornings getting out of bed, and hot during the afternoons in the living room coming home from work and during dinner time in the summers. Additionally, neighbors in the complex that come home late and park their cars would sometimes wake me up at night.
The rent isn't cheap but it's around the average price for this area, and the land lady is usually very responsive.
