would not recommend

The washing machines and dryers are almost ALWAYS out of order or if not only one is working at a time and they never get fixed. Another thing is the roach problem. I am pretty sure every apartment has roaches because of all the other residents I’ve talked too they have also said their apartment is infested with roaches.

Things I wish I knew before moving in here

Things I wish I knew before starting a one year lease...
Roaches are a constant thing even after bug bombing that they offer at no cost.
You do get a parking space in a garage but take note people will always be blocking your spot, and if you have another car, the street is overcrowded. Windows get broken and my car was even spray painted. Laundry is on site but machines tend to break down frequently. This apartment complex is on a very loud busy street. This building has extremely thin walls so… be prepared to hear everything from conversations to loud music at any time of the day or night. There's a lead paint warning that we were told of at the last minute while signing the lease. Everything in the apartment is painted even the bath tub which the paint started chipping in the first week. Overall the price is low but these are the issues we encountered.

Puente Villa Apartments

Puente Villa Apartment has about 150 Units, 3 Buildings, 1 swimming pool about 9ft deep, fair exercise room, 3 laundry rooms which uses a key card system which you can reload in the exercise room which is pretty convenient if you don't have coins. Most tenants get one car garage and overhead storage. I think the new managers allows renting of 2 parking spots in front of the complex and near the dumpster inside the complex. Do not park in the new residents parking spaces or you will be towed… within 5-20 mins and costs up $300 to get your car back.

Overall the complex was nice for temporary living about 3-4 years max. New tenants arrive every 6 months or so. No security on site at any times. The architecture of the units do not seem so safe, if someone were to rob/burglar your unit no one would be able to help you, which is why my family adds bars to the windows from the inside for added safety, the cameras don't look like they function, i hope thy do. Sometimes hard to reach the new manager, I forgot her name. The old manager Pablo was great and made sure all tenants were happy and all needs were accommodated like repairs and such.

I would recommend Puente Villa for small families looking for a cheap, temporary, and yet fairly modern looking units near the city and freeways.
