Bayside at Coronado

Here is our experience.
Military family member with lease here was deployed on very short notice. Family jumped in to assist. Even with that, landlord made things as difficult as possible, and completely ripped off military lease holder. Landlord did all of the following:
- Despite military clause and orders showing immediate deployment, landlord charged an additional 6 weeks rent after move out date, stating Lease does not allow immediate rescission for military orders. Military member is stuck… paying for the remainder of a month plus the entire next month after moving out of apartment.
- Insisted that closing fees be paid by certified check or money order. Gave the incorrect fee amounts, maximizing the inconvenience in obtaining the money orders (a difficult process and one which military member could never have completed in the brief period of prep before departure).
- Claimed a cleaning fee and a damage fee even though family cleaned apartment well on move out and there was no damage we could see.
-Landlord gave email notice of this fee and said it would go to collections unless paid with certified check within 13 days of notice. Military family member is on a ship in the middle of the ocean with no means to contest bogus fees nor readily get payment to landlord in time. I’ve lived here for over 3 years and love the location and amenities. The management however has really gone downhill. They have a hard time communicating efficiently and tending to issues that are actually important. They’re worried about painting the buildings to a boring color but don’t seem to care about my termite nest with chewed up wood and termite droppings. They’ve started to enforce silly rules regarding how we park in our parking spots and what can be on our balconies but every time… it rains, I’m left with only a few inches of dry walkway for weeks. Over priced apt. Location is great but you will live in less than good apt.

I 've been happy with my Broadstone apartment, I think the staff is excellent and I truly enjoy the pool.
