How Is This Rating Determined?

8/2/19

Quality has gone down in the last year.

When I moved in, the complex was decent. Kind of dirty, but at least it was fairly quiet and the neighbors were polite. The past year or so, we’ve gotten new management/the corporate people have been coming in and “maintaining” the complex. Initially, I thought that this would be a good thing: cleaner facilities, tighter management, better screening, etc., but things have actually gotten worse.

The tenants are clearly not vetted or screened very well: neighbors who scream and fight loud enough...
to hear through the walls and floors, tenants who play music and their TVs super loudly late at night, people who chain smoke cigarettes and leave their butts everywhere.

The grounds are also not well maintained. They cleaned the complex once a few months ago, and I suspect that was only to attract tenants to fill a vacancy because the plants haven’t been trimmed and the grounds have not been spray washed since then, so it’s basically a grimy, dirty jungle here. On top of that, there are feral cats and possums roaming around. I like nature, but it’s a little much lately. I think they are attracted to the dumpster that is not emptied often enough. Half the time, there is garbage overflowing and strewn across the parking lot. I guess that makes it easier for the homeless people to come forage for recyclables as they do regularly.
