Unreasonably Burdensome Rental Application
I would strongly encourage anyone considering renting through this management company to be prepared for an extremely invasive application process.
During my application, I provided a completed application, employment verification, landlord references, two years of W-2s, two years of tax returns, five months of pay stubs, bank statements, copies of my driver’s license and Social Security card, and even a detailed balance sheet listing my assets, including cash, brokerage accounts, vehicles, and... cryptocurrency.
Despite submitting all of this information promptly, I continued to receive requests for additional documentation with little explanation of why what I had already provided was not sufficient. The process felt excessive and lacked transparency.
Communication was also disappointing. When I had questions about the application requirements and requested contact information for a supervisor, that information was not provided.
I understand that landlords need to verify applicants, and I fully cooperated throughout the process. However, I believe there should be reasonable limits on the amount of highly sensitive personal and financial information requested, along with clear communication about why it is needed.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend renting through this management company. I hope they improve their application process by limiting unnecessary documentation requests and communicating more clearly with future applicants.
