Cute Building, Great Neighborhood, Excellent Transit

This has been my and my partner’s first apartment since moving to LA and we have definitely enjoyed living here thus far. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the D Line, surrounded by amazing food, and adorable 1920s architecture. This building is no exception. We love the Art Deco details in our apartment, the cute updated kitchen, and the amount of light we get. Being that it was built in 1926, it has had its share of maintenance issues BUT management has absolutely made quick efforts to rectify... problems as they arise. In fact, the building manager is an absolute delight who I love speaking with whenever she’s on duty. This in maintenance here are also incredibly kind and always happy to help.

While the building is in Ktown, the street is pretty calm and quiet. We love seeing kids running around after school, grandparents walking about during the day, and various activism orgs canvas up the road at the Wiltshire/Western stop. It’s a great place to live and beautiful building to bat.

The two bedroom units come with parking, our one bedroom room did not BUT parking hasn’t been much of an issue outside of peak times, but we can normally find spots inside peak times if we’re willing to come back to move our vehicle early in the morning.

Great mix of charm and modern living

I really loved living at Astor Arms. The building has a lot of character and history—the Astor name actually comes from a famous old New York real estate family—so it gives the place a cool, classic vibe you don’t see in most buildings.

At the same time, the units have been nicely renovated, so you get that historic charm along with modern updates. My unit feels clean, comfortable, and well taken care of.

The location is also super convenient but yet not on a busy street.

Management has...
been another big plus—they’re always courteous, responsive, and easy to work with, which makes a huge difference day to day.

Overall, it’s a great mix of character and modern living, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to live in LA.
