Moving Out After 4 Years Here

My favorite apartment and building I've ever lived in. The building is historical, like 1920s old Hollywood historical, so if you're looking for something ultra modern and minimalistic in design, this ain't it. But if you're into that built-to-last, old school craftsmanship, this is great place for it.

The one bedroom I was in was large, wood floors (which was important to me) and the views of LA's skyline are out of this world. The rooftop patio and its sweeping views is just amazing....

Management and maintenance were always really good to me during my tenancy. Any issue I had was quickly resolved.

The current manager, Adam, has been incredibly responsive and accommodating, and I feel lucky to be leaving on such good terms with the building and its management. Highly recommend if you're in the market to rent and don't mind an urban setting.

Serious Problems in the Building

I have lived here for over 3 years now and really like the location being close to DTLA and Koreatown, but things in the building have gotten much worse since I moved in. We used to have an on-site building manager but they quit and have not been replaced. You can't have mail delivered here anymore because with break-ins the mail is always being stolen. Also, the new management is very poor in fixing basic utilities and totally ignore requests to get things fixed. I wish they would lift their... game!

Amazing

My apartment was 506. It was a dream, and still leaves a lasting effect whenever I reminisce. Lived here for 3 years, never an issue. Ed was the manager and unsure if he is still there. Was always careful bc of the area, but apartments here are certainly worth it 100%.

I live here now - Building needs attention

The apartments are lovely, spacious, bright, with tall ceilings, some with original 1920's fixtures. However, the building manager just quit and has yet to be replaced. This web site claims two elevators but there is only one working - the other has not worked for over a year and must be fixed. Security is also an issue as there have been break-ins. For the rent they are asking the management company really needs to step up their game and get serious about managing this once-elegant property.

Old LA art deco charm

Art deco building (1927), 7 stories, with great views of L.A. from upper floors. High ceilings, walls so thick that you seldom hear your neighbors, large windows, old linoleum, real bathroom tile and old-style (small) closets. As tenants move out, they renovate, but unfortunately with cheap, "modern" materials, not real wood. The 'hood is seedy but relatively safe, current manager good, management company not so much. Most repairs done swiftly but cheaply. Quiet building, "old LA" charm,... pleasant tenants, many artistic. Parking space in garage for 1 and 2 bedrooms, but not for single apartments. On side street, close to buses on 6th or Wilshire. Metro a few blocks away.
