Terrible building
It’s easy to be quickly enamored by the architectural details, size, and brick-wall loft-style of these units but please beware. This building is located on an extremely active and dangerous corner of DTLA. Fights, stabbings and robberies occur weekly at the 711 on the first floor of the building. The landlord has done nothing to evict this business that is causing major problems with vagrancy on that street. The corner of 7th and Olive is a haven for the homeless downtown, who harass tenants,... use the sidewalk as their bathroom, and constantly fight with each other. The noise of people yelling, fighting and playing music at all hours of the night makes this place unlivable. Additionally the constant truck deliveries all week day/night/end make it impossible to sleep. This was all on top of the fact that this building is infested with roaches, affecting multiple units on our floor. All of these issues were brought up over and over again with management with no resolve. Their final solution was to raise our rent, forcing us to move immediately. Then they had to nerve to deduct charges out of our security deposit for basic changeover maintenance. This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in, I can’t even describe how happy I am to no longer be there. Do NOT waste your time here.
