The quality of the building is lacking, there is cigarette smoke coming from the vents, the pool was closed during the only hot days of the year(!!) and someone got shot outside the building.

Our experience from signing the lease, viewing the apartment and moving in was all really smooth. The communication with the leasing office staff was great. They were so helpful with everything. Additionally, our maintenance manager is really knowledgeable and receptive to helping make sure the move is smooth. Since moving in, we've been getting used to the new sounds and smells of the community. We've learned there must be a lot of great cooks on our floor! The amenities are amazing. I've truly… enjoyed having the gym and fitness/yoga studio. Finally, being so close to BART really gives us access to the wider Bay Area which is a glorious thing to have. We are really looking forward to more positive experiences living at MacArthur Commons.

I've lived here less than a year and waited over 4 months to get a parking space. When I had to park on the street my tires were slashed within the 1st month of me living here; little to no sympathy from the office staff. Last month my bike was stolen from the "secure" bike room and I was met with the same "there's nothing we can do" response. I'm literally from this neighborhood and every day I walk outside to drugs and poverty. The security staff doesn’t make me feel safe and yesterday I… walked by a dead body. The ONLY reason why I live here is because of its location and convenience.
