900 F Street

My experience with 900 F Street started off a little rocky, but I want to give credit where it’s due. The team — especially Don and Sandy — really turned things around and helped me feel supported as I prepared for a cross-country move.

They honored a two-month rent concession as promised, worked with me through a complicated approval process, and were responsive when I had questions about utilities, ESA documentation, and the lease. I appreciated the transparency and follow-through once... everything was in motion.

The location is incredible — right in downtown San Diego — and I’m excited to be moving in soon. Thank you to the team for staying communicative and helping everything come together before my move!

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with how 900 F Street Apartments has handled my application process. I completed every step that was required: submitted all documents, completed the background check, income verification, and even had a trusted friend tour the unit for me while I attended virtually. I made it clear—multiple times, both in writing and verbally—that my move-in date was August 1st, and the leasing agent explicitly confirmed and assured me that this date was acceptable and... the unit would be held.

Now, after weeks of waiting and moving forward in good faith, I get a call asking if I’m moving in on July 23rd—which is not what was agreed upon. This is completely unprofessional. When I reminded them that August 1st was the confirmed and acknowledged date, they backtracked and said the unit might no longer be available.

This kind of miscommunication and lack of integrity wastes people’s time, money, and emotional energy—especially for those relocating or coordinating housing from out of town. I upheld my end of the agreement. 900 F failed to uphold theirs.

Proceed with caution. The location may be appealing, but the management and leasing process are disorganized, unreliable, and misleading. Read More

The property manager who lives on site mind you couldn’t give a hoot about anything in my personal experience. Every day there are transients breaking into the complex that’s gated, yanking open the gate to gain access, some of them even have their own keys to enter the buildings where the laundry machines are, that are constantly broken because they destroy them. At least weekly out of the 6 washers and 6 dryers for over 100 units there’s maybe 1 or 2 each working at any given time. Maintenance... was told about the gate issue a year ago and still have done nothing to resolve the issue nor have they bothered to do anything about the problem. The complex wide fire alarms start blaring at all hours of the night waking you up day or night with an awefully loud screaming alarm…. Happens all the time, sometimes will go off for over a half hour until the fire department comes and has to shut it off again.

The property claims to have security and leaves a number for you to call on their voicemail but that security company hasn’t worked for the property in over as long as I’ve lived here which is going on 3 years.

I would highly recommend anyone looking to move into this apartment complex to look elsewhere and only use this as a last stitch resort because you will regret it. They don't really care about the tenants. Many times they have a "professional day" but tenants are not informed in advance when the office is closed. So if you need help specifically from the leasing office, too bad!

I could write a book on the problems here.
