Good deal for the location
I've lived at De Anza for one year now. I generally like it & think it's a great deal given the location, although it's not perfect.
The good:
1. Location - Near park, restaurants, bars, peaceful area.
2. Rent (1bd) - Below San Diego average (2024)
3. Living room square footage.
4. Natural light - Multiple large windows on all sides of unit.
5. Storage space - Many cabinets, drawers, pantry, big closet
6. Utilities - Water is free of charge (2024)
7. Maintenance & management - Responsive,... prompt
8. Wifi - Fast data plans with Cox, up to 500 Mbps
9. Multiple exits (ground unit)- Front & back doors, in case of emergency.
10. Privacy - Cannot hear nextdoor neighbors through walls.
The bad:
1. Insulation - Unit boilts in summer & freezes in winter. No AC, ineffective wall heaters.
2. Appliances - No dishwasher, no microwave, gas stove fumes can spread through unit. Stove & fridge are dated.
3. Tight spaces (1bd) - Narrow kitchen, limited countertop space, tiny bathroom, cramped bedroom.

Great place to live!
I've loved living here for the past 4 years! Well maintained property. Very quiet and walkable area, close to restaurants, bars, cafes, Target Express, and many parks. Plenty of off-street parking, with the option to rent a garage for monthly rate. Laundry on site. Management is great, they've always responded timely to issues.

Comfortable and Friendly
This is a great apartment complex. Many of the apartments have been remodeled and look great. Great place if you're looking for something quiet. There are two courtyards and plenty of parking on the streets. Garages are available! Greenery around the houses with pretty plants and everything is well kept. We have made wonderful relationships with neighbors and still continue those relationships to this day.
