Filthy hostel with tiny rooms and only public toilets and dirty showers

There are no apartments here. It's a filthy, sickening hostel with a very poor management, almost non-existent cleaning, lazy, disrespectful and abusive staff, and the business owners who couldn't care less and NEVER apologize for anything (filth, lack of hot water, their staff harassment). The surrounding streets are covered with human excrements and trash, plus there are lots of homeless in the area.

The rooms are tiny - 72 sq,feet or about 6.5 sq.meters, with a sink. Some rooms face the… small lightwell and have no natural lights, enough air, or privacy.

All toilets and showers are shared and NEVER properly cleaned. The showers are covered with the deadly black mold from floors to ceilings, their tubs are covered with dirt and grease. The janitor shows up when he pleases and cleans as he pleases (skipping the really dirty parts).

The "onsite" manager disappears for days or even weeks. The maintenance is unresponsive and abusive. I heard a manager and maintenance men cursing and yelling harassing tenants.

The kitchen in in a very unsanitary condition.
Theft is common as anyone can enter the building.

Great CoLiving Community in Central San Francisco

Hi! I came to San Francisco to work on a new startup—it was all very exciting but I didn’t have any friends locally. Rent was also very expensive compared to where I used to live. I reluctantly decided to give CoLiving a shot and to my surprise 1080 Folsom CoLiving Community surpassed all of my expectations.

Work plus fun! What more can you ask for in a residential building in a new city? The building is setup with a giant CoLiving space downstairs with TV, Work stations, comfy couches and an… industrial kitchen for shared community meals. I came to discover students and start up founders from all around the world working and exploring new ideas, art, food, engineering, new workout protocols…. One day we even had a group hike run across the city and celebrated our 21mi hike with an ice cream party. A lot of the residents ended up being cherished friends.

1080 Folsom was definitely the right choice for me. All in all a great CoLiving residence next to all the exciting hubs of the Bay Area and Silicon Valley.
