Hanakiki Garden Apartments

There is no proper drainage when it rains. Water came into the apartment through the sliding glass doors which were very old sliding glass doors that didn't work. Bedroom carpet was soaked & kitchen had about 1/2 inch of standing water. Management did nothing but try to pump using a pump that was not adequate. I had to live in the apartment with wet floors. Management left cleanup to me & did not offer me a hotel room. They did not fix the moldy carpet. I moved. It stunk.
There was also mold... in my clothing because mold grew in the closet.

These are the things I experienced while living at Hana Kiki Apartments:
* Always grouchy manager.
* Leaky roofs, stained ceilings.
* Rats in attic that run & squeal at night.
* Termite infested
* Mold infested
* Leaky pipes
* Appliances that did not work & were never repaired or replaced. I was told I was responsible for fixing if I wanted them fixed.
* Radiant heat that did not work, which basically equals no heat.
* A/C unit was old & did not work.
* Trees are very overgrown. Tree roots lift... sidewalks by 6-inches in many places. Never corrected. Very hazardous.
* High crime area. No safety cameras. Insufficient lighting.
* Garage doors are sheets of plywood. Always breaking. * Garages are not secure and are full of dust, oil, cobwebs.
* Noisy. I could hear neighbors through both interior and exterior walls. Freeway traffic can be heard through exterior walls.
* When I lived there the nearby homeless people would rummage through the dumpsters. The dumpsters were ALWAYS overflowing. Not at all sufficient for the complex.
