Honest Review of Peartree After 7 Months
I have been living at Peartree Apartment Complex for enough time now where I have given the place and management a fair shot but it only gets worse. I feel responsible to share a review given the bad experience I've had here so that I could warn others.
First, the pest problem is impossible to ignore. Spiders and roaches have become unwelcome co-inhabitants, diminishing the comfort one expects in their own living space. Spiders are constantly inside the apartment or hanging from every single... corner outside the apartment which means every day we're killing at least one bug a day inside our apartment. Roaches hangout near the gutters and laundry room like they pay rent. Speaking of the laundry room, the machines appear to have never been cleaned, and ants are a common sight- definitely not healthy for anyone with allergies especially.
In terms of financial aspects, we have been blindsided by unexpected charges. Halfway through our lease, an extra $50 fee was introduced for parking- a space that was previously included. We had just finally got a solution with parking we were happy with but they are now deciding to take that away and charge us $50 for that same space we'd already been parking in. No one wants this charge but management says it's "fair" which of course they would say that, it makes them more money. We have even been charged an extra $75 on our rent for no reason, resulting in us needing to fight it with management which took over two weeks for us to get a refund.
Parking in itself deserves its own entire section but I'll keep it brief. The parking here is chaotic, plagued by constant changes and a complete lack of guest parking unless prior permission is obtained. This results in people constantly parking in fire lanes and taking other people's spots, even people from the neighboring complex take the spots out front for the leasing office. Only one gate opens meaning that if you live on the side close to the other gate that does not open from the outside, you have to drive all the way around. DO NOT move here if you have more than one car or want to have guests over.
The lack of included utilities adds another layer of frustration, especially considering that there are no noteworthy amenities. Aside from a basic pool and a so-called "fitness room," there's little to justify the cost of rent here. Security is minimal, with only occasional nighttime patrols- something that only started recently. Location is the only reason you may want to eve
