Walnut Woods

I have lived in Turlock since I became a student at the local University. There are plenty of options for apartments around here, but after a detailed run-through of the options, I decided to try Walnut Woods. I have been a resident there for over four years.

Walnut Woods is located right off a main shopping area in town, with grocery stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. It is a short hop to Campus as well, ~20 minutes walking. The hospital is also close by, a plus in case of an… emergency. Downtown and the other major shopping area (Target/Costco) are both short drives from the complex.

Over all my years here, I have not seen an ounce of crime in the area. It is truly peaceful.

The apartment complex itself is lovely, well-maintained with a laundromat, fitness center, and pool. The office staff are friendly and helpful. The apartments come in three types, from a smaller floorplan to a larger one with a fireplace. I have the midrange floorplan, and it has been wonderful. Two bedrooms with one bathroom, spacious living room with an adjoining kitchen. Every apartment has its own balcony and covered parking space, as well.

The only downside that comes to mind are the stray cats that wander in every so often. They occasionally can be heard late at night (~2am) fighting behind a building. However, that is just normal in the city, so I cannot really count that.

The apartment complex is wonderful, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Turlock. Read More
