Harbor Heights

We love Mystic and we were excited to find Harbor Heights as a residence while we were here temporarily. The complex looks good and has nice amenities but it’s like living in a hotel/motel. We thought since it was new construction it would have been built better and be more sound proof.....you know, like luxury resort style?!?!? We are able to hear everything that happens around us, I mean everything. I’ve been all the way in my bedroom and swore someone was talking in the kitchen area just… to discover it was just people walking by in the hallway. We constantly hear dogs barking and children playing or crying. We hear all the noises made in the pool/grill/lounge area....sometimes even over the sound of our own tv. And if you aren’t living on the top floor be prepared to hear every single sound that is made in the unit above you. Unfortunately we have a herd of elephants above us and the sound reverberates throughout our apartment causing us constant headaches. I mean, I guess this is apartment living but you can get the same thing at a much less expensive apartment complex. And I can’t forget to add the noise from the interstate, sadly after awhile it becomes white noise. We lived here for 7 months, and while some of the amenities are nice (the pool was a nice touch in the summer), the units have thin walls and ceilings, and management needs some work. Both my surrounding units had constant barking dogs, and despite the number of complaints from me and other neighbors, management never took action or cared. We had a family with kids that lived above us, and the noise was unbearable at times because of the thin ceilings. We never felt supported by the management… office. Not all of the tenants wore masks inside the shared building areas either, which didn't make us feel safe. Honestly, the building looks nice from the outside, but calling themselves "luxury" and charging the amount that they're charging is definitely a stretch. My move back to Mystic was perfect timing . . . Harbor Heights had just started renting and I fell in love with The Pearl! It is truly like being at a resort every day! I have also been fortunate enough to meet some incredibly wonderful people who started as aquaintances and I now consider dear friends. I love being "off the beaten path" but so very close to the ocean, Enders Island, downtown Mystic and many restaurants. I have been here at Harbor Heights for about 4 months now. I love it - the amenities are great and the people have been so friendly - made many new friends. I would recommend to anyone.
