More Problems Than Perks

There is a high tenant turnover rate, and maintenance requests can sometimes have lengthy response times. There also isn’t a traditional leasing office or many amenities compared with other properties nearby, which can make the rent feel high for what is ultimately provided.

The building is advertised as secure, but there have been instances where exterior doors do not appear to lock properly, which raises questions about the purpose and effectiveness of the key-fob system and, more importantly… , residents’ sense of security.

Snow and ice removal could also be improved. During the winter, the parking lot can remain icy or unplowed, making it difficult and potentially unsafe to walk through. There have also been occasions when trash was not picked up as scheduled, causing the dumpsters to fill up quickly. Although the lease provides guidelines about breaking down and recycling boxes, not all residents follow them, which can contribute to overflowing trash and recycling areas.

One of the biggest positives, however, is the community of tenants. The residents I’ve interacted with have generally been friendly and considerate. If packages or food deliveries are left outside at the front door, it’s common for another tenant to bring them inside to the lobby. People regularly wave to each other, make small talk, and look out for one another. That sense of community is definitely one of the better aspects of living here.
