Southwood Square

I really like the building I reside. I was worried at first that I would feel really cramped in a two bedroom here but it is actually quite spacious. The bathroom is a great size and there is a full size washer and dryer in the unit. There are also three nice sized closets. The downside to the community is that the gym is small but functional. The new property manager has been great in addressing a lot of issue in the community. Maintenance has been pretty good though about fixing the more… necessary things in my apartment and outside the property. My roommate has lived here for over 1 year and I've been living here for 2 months and thus far my experience combined with my roommates lead to this conclusion (DO NOT LIVE HERE).
- regardless of the level of severity of a maintenance request (repair of dish washer, washing machine or dryer, changing the lights in the kitchen or repairing a door), it takes them in most cases over a month in our experience.
- Don't leave a welcome matt outside your apartment door, mine was stolen.
- The leasing… office's hours are not friendly M-T 9am-5pm closed friday, saturday and sunday but could meet by appointment. we made an appointment with the leasing agent on a saturday he was over 3 hours late
- The community towed my roommates car because it didnt have a parking sticker although they had his cars information on file.
- The leasing agent is barely ever in the office and the admin/desk agent can never tell you whether the leasing agent is coming in or not

For the price of a 1br you get no granite counter tops or no new updated appliances. If you are paying $1,800 for a 1br you can go to the south end where they have newer apartments with all updated everything. No pets, if your a smoker your not allowed to smoke in your apartment or even outside.

This a pretty decent apartment complex. I have had to put in one work order, and after a little back and forth, it was resolved. The complex is kept fairly clean, and for the area, it seems relatively cheap. I have been here for over a year, and had renewed my lease and I plan on doing it again.
