Nestled between the more popular beach towns of Santa Monica and Redondo Beach, El Segundo is a hidden gem along the Southern California Coast. This thriving beach community offers the best of both worlds as its northern neighbor is the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Downtown Los Angeles is less than 20 miles away. El Segundo itself is a mix of industrial and residential. The top half of town is filled with residential avenues and beachy fare while the southern half of town is made up of corporate offices and industrial plants, including Chevron Refinery. The coast of El Segundo is what really draws in newcomers. The city's beach provides fun activities and an escape into nature. For a day off the sand, the city is anchored by El Segundo Recreation Park, which provides athletic fields, trails, green space, and a community center.
