Stretching west from the banks of the Colorado River near the California-Arizona border, Blythe is a small agricultural town that's a hit with outdoor lovers because of its proximity to incredible outdoor destinations. Proximity to the great Colorado River means fishermen, boaters, kayakers, white water rafters, and other outdoorsy types flock to Blythe. The town center, just off Interstate 10, features local Mexican fare, fast-food restaurants, grocers, and cultural attractions like the Palo Verde Historical Museum, which displays the history and significance of the Palo Verde Valley. Most rentals in Blythe follow a similar form; one or two stories with a light-colored exterior help defend from the heat, and some homes feature cacti gardens. Adding to the outdoor appeal, Joshua Tree National Park and the Salton Sea are just about an hour's drive from Blythe, and Palm Springs is another 45 minutes on I-10.
