Both a neighborhood and an attraction for long-time residents and tourists alike, Fisherman’s Wharf is one of the busiest sections of San Francisco. Situated on the northeastern corner of the city along the water, the wharf was once a bustling center for fishing, and while there are still active piers and fishermen who operate off the wharf, it was reinvented into a tourist attraction in the 1980s. The bulk of the neighborhood is made up of souvenir shops, restaurants, and attractions like museums that explore the history of the area. Aquatic Park provides incredible views of the water and Alcatraz Island. Most residences in and around Fisherman’s Wharf can be found just south of Columbus Avenue and range from upscale apartments with incredible views to long-standing townhomes in brick buildings.
