Poinciana is a city in the heart of Florida about 40 miles south of Orlando. The outskirts of the city are filled with the dense forests of Lake Marion Creek Wildlife Management Area and the Nature Conservancy's Disney Wilderness Preserve. While the nearest oceanfront beach is an hour-and-a-half drive away, the city is surrounded by several large lakes, including Lake Tohopekaliga. The commercial areas of Poinciana are concentrated around Cypress Parkway; Poinciana Towne Center and surrounding retail plazas are all located off this road.
