Infested with bugs
I cannot recommend Rise Citrus Ridge under any circumstances. This has been, without question, the worst leasing experience I have ever had.
From the moment we moved in, we repeatedly alerted management to a serious pest infestation issue in our unit. Despite numerous complaints and requests for assistance, our concerns were never taken seriously. We eventually had an independent pest control company inspect the situation, and they informed management that the entire building was experiencing a... severe infestation problem and that our unit should be vacated immediately. Even with that professional assessment, management showed little to no concern and failed to take meaningful action.
Throughout this process, management continually changed their story and gave us conflicting information. We were told different things by different people, and promises that were made were rarely followed through on. Communication was frustrating, inconsistent, and completely unreliable.
The situation became so unacceptable that I was forced to hire an attorney to help resolve the issue. The only positive outcome we were able to achieve was being released from our lease without penalty. It should never have reached the point where legal assistance was necessary simply to address a serious health and habitability concern.
To make matters worse, Rise Citrus Ridge promotes a security deposit alternative program that is presented as though your money is being held in an account similar to a traditional security deposit. In reality, it is simply a fee that they keep regardless of the condition in which you leave the apartment. This was never made sufficiently clear during the leasing process and felt extremely misleading.
Between the severe pest issues, management’s lack of concern, the constant misinformation, the need to involve an attorney, and the questionable fee practices, this community has demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and accountability. I would strongly caution anyone considering leasing here to look elsewhere. There are far better options available that will treat residents with the respect and responsiveness they deserve.
