Located in a quiet neighborhood between the intercoastal Santa Rosa Sound and the Gulf of Mexico, this apartment is attached to the Okaloosa Island Beach Access #1 Boardwalk that goes directly to the Gulf of Mexico's sugar-white warm sandy beach and the intercostal waterway near the Brooks Bridge. The Santa Rosa Sound is a minute or two on the opposite side, also connected to the boardwalk. Okaloosa Island is known for less crowded beaches and is about 10-15 min from Destin depending on traffic. This neighborhood is located near restaurants and bars. Guests can get around Okaloosa Island by car, bike, or on foot. There are also several local shuttle services available for transportation to nearby attractions and restaurants. Additionally, the Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier is within walking distance.
Due to being on an island with a tropical climate, there are tropical insects, amphibians, and fish. The space is treated regularly for pests; however, you may come across a palmetto bug, wood roach, American roach, Ceratopogonidae (no-seams), mosquitos, or termites. During storms, insects can and will invade spaces to get away from the rain. The property is located very close to the water and snakes such as water moccasins are seen on occasion, especially near rocks. Swimming in the bay has a variety of aquatic species that can cause harm, swim at your own risk. If any sign or smell of smoke is encountered, a $500 smoke damage cleaning fee will be charged.
