Lake Crossing Apartments

I have lived here for 1.5 years now, and I still love my apartment and the beautiful scenery. I have moved a lot for work and have lived in many apartments across five different states, Lake Crossing has been in my top 2 places I have ever lived. Of course, problems pop up but the leasing office/maintenance has always been quick to handle them. I appreciate Terry and everything she does to help.

I've been a resident at Lake Crossing for just 5-months now, and I was thinking just the other day how immensely HAPPY I am that I made the decision not only to move to Gainesville when I retired, but specifically into the Lake Crossing community!

The grounds are very well-kept, there are numerous picturesque fountains in the various ponds throughout the community, and the pool is always clean and VERY refreshing throughout the summer!

Also, my apartment "feels solid", and I've never heard... any sounds from any adjacent apartments. At OTHER places I've lived, I could always tell anytime a neighbor was taking a shower from the rushing sound of the water through pipes that ran through common walls. The floors would always creak as I stepped on certain areas. HERE, it's SOLID, and QUIET!

The entire management team has always been friendly and quickly addressed any questions or maintenance issues I've had. Each month throughout the summer they hosted social events where I was able to meet some of my neighbors! I thought this was very nice, and I HAVE met some nice people from these!

Speaking of the management, I cannot adequately express how VERY pleased I am that Kyli is part of the management team!

Any time that I have stopped by the office with a question and Kyli has helped me, her face would light up with the most infectious smile I've ever seen. She always made ME smile and feel good inside as a result!

If I see her out and about throughout the community she ALWAYS waves vigorously and calls out, "Hi there!" in her quaint southern accent, while beaming that GREAT smile of hers!

When I'd have a maintenance request, and I'd stop by the office - yes, I could put in such a request online, but then I'd miss out on seeing Kyli's amazing smile! - I have NEVER had to give my name or apartment number if she's there. She just KNEW it!

Also, I love my apartment size and layout. It's very spacious and accommodates all of my needs.

I enjoy riding my bike for fitness, so I also do many of my regular errands on my bike to combine fitness with utility.

As Lake Crossing is located within 2-miles of two Publix grocery stores, Santa Fe College, and many restaurants, and within about 5-miles of the the main campus of the University of Florida and MANY other places I enjoy, it's always an easy ride to just about anyplace I want or need to go...as well as a great workout. I’ve lived here for almost 2.5 years and highly recommend it for both professionals and families. I love my apartment, the location, and I feel very safe here (which was really important to me). The staff is amazing! They’re the most helpful apartment team I’ve ever worked with, always quick to respond and take care of any issues right away. Plus, they host regular community events (almost every month), which makes it easy to meet neighbors and feel part of the community.

I've lived in Lake Crossing for 2, nearly 3 years now. The unit I'm in now was the first apartment I've ever had. I've found LC to be a really good first apt. Here are my negatives and positives.

Negatives:
My apt is one of the ones that has been "renovated" to have more up-to-date appliances and features. This is nice at first glance, but when you take a closer look, you notice its faults pretty quickly. The wooden floors are not pushed together properly, so dirt builds in the crevices. The... granite they chose for the countertops makes it difficult to see when something is dirty as it will blend into the pattern. I've also noticed that there are tons of small details that just seem poorly finished, such as underneath the floating cabinets or the paint being chipped around the windows.

I've consistently had pest issues like ants, roaches, and fruit flies. The roaches are either very alive or very dead and are more so a reminder to me to call the front office to request pest control to come to my unit. The ants and flies, however, are different. The ants keep showing up on my window sills and, at this point, I think the windows may need to be replaced. The flies are persistent. Just when I think they're gone, they're back. I've tried everything; stuff for the drains, fly-catchers, an indoor bug zapper, etc. It's more just fly management at this point than them ever being completely gone.

Maintenance time is terrible. It will take weeks for something to be fixed in your apartment if you have an issue. This isn't the fault of the staff themselves, however, because they are understaffed and some things that may need fixing they need to order a part for, which also takes time.

This isn't necessarily a negative, but the unit I'm in keeps heat in really well. In the winter I rarely turn the heating on, but in the summer the AC works overtime.

Positives:
The management team that runs LC are great. Anytime I phone the front desk, they're always pleasant and understanding. I've had no issues with the staff.

The location of LC is really nice in my opinion. It's close to the highway, Santa Fe, and Magnolia Park which has loads of restaurants.

The noise level isn't very high either. The only time it's an issue is with upstairs neighbors stomping (very rarely/depends on the person), dogs barking, or just someone having a loud vehicle when they leave or return from going out. Read More

I have been living here for 3 years going on 4. From the first day, the staff have been so kind and welcoming. Upon arrival to my apartment they had a care package for me and for my dog. Any maintenance issues I have had they took care of in a timely manner. The front office staff is beyond sweet. Caitlyn always remembers me by name and her and Sydney always have a smile on their faces. The team at Lake Crossing always have treats for you at the front office and do little events every once in a... while for their residence. Their amenities are clean and in good condition.
