Without a doubt the worst place I have ever lived.
My expectations were already pretty low since the rent was the cheapest in the area so just know you get what you pay for.
Just some things to expect if you're thinking of living here:
- Dog poop all over the place.
- Trash left in the hallways and all over the street.
- The smell of weed around the entire neighborhood (although that may not be such a turn off to some)
- Hearing every little thing from the neighbors including music blasting late at night and early in the morning.
- Gunshots in... the middle of the night
- Frequent visits from the police
As far as move out goes:
- They will force you to have the carpets cleaned and suggest you use their recommended company...then charge you to replace the carpets anyway (which they planned to do regardless especially if you have a pet)
- Attempt to charge you for not painting after patching up small holes. FYI they will paint the unit regardless. I did get this charge dropped after going around in circles with one of the apartment managers.
- Charge you a cleaning fee even if you have it cleaner than it was when you moved in (which it was).
- in two years of living there (surprisingly) I never had any issue with vandalism. In the 3 days I was gone from the unit while cleaning it, someone tore the exterior screen which I was then charged for.
- Disregard any disputes you have regarding their charges and just send you to collections.
If you're in a bind and can't afford something better, this is the place to live but know you are definitely getting what you pay for. If you care even a small amount about your living conditions and having good, honest management, avoid this place at all costs.
