Lighthouse Bay

I have lived here for two years now, and the number one thing I appreciate about this community is how quiet it always is. The community is very pet friendly, and even has lots of ducks and turtles in the pond to watch grow and play. (I'm a huge nature nerd) I haven't personally had many issues where I needed to call maintenance, but when I have they come within the next few days, but usually the same day. The front office staff have a down to earth friendly feel. I've been very happy.

My son lived here his junior and senior year of college. Very quiet and safe, great pool and the office staff were always helpful. Highly recommend!

Background :

Originally planned to live here for a year or 2 and then move closer to downtown or Bayshore.

With career advancements and over half a decade later, I'm still here and planning to stay + upgrade from a mid-large studio to 1 Bedroom.

The staff, especially Stephanie and Gabrielle, helped me through a part of my life (not financial but challenging), and I'm very grateful to them and the team.

How It Compares :

Being objective and curious about the actual value, I recently did... the comparison to other "similar" + "luxury" apartments, and even with the distances to key locations, you would have to spend 34% more to meet all the value criteria found here. Toured a few recently, and some other apartments were downright sneaky, pushing for UN-renovated units (which was odd?), at slightly higher than average. Alarms rang, with my worry being "what happens when you start renovating MY unit and the price increases dramatically?". Here, it's always been give and take; prices will increase to match inflation and trends but none of that previous BS.

It's not perfect but it feels like home.

This Apartment :

CONS :
- Alertness crossing main street into entrance (not their fault)
- Does not yet have a gate but difficult with current entrance (maybe near future upgrade with new entrance?) , does have cameras, security, frequent guard
- Some dated counters / cabinets (but I moved in before some renovations so probably ignore this)
- 12 month lease max. as of posting this (15 would be cool)
- Blinds / mechanism to turn them are a bit flimsy
- No wall shelves for studio (may change?); there is a book case floor to ceiling though even in studio
- Unfurnished (not sure if exists/possible)

PROS :
- The nicest and hardest working staff
- Everyone valuing privacy + courtesy neighbors
- Reasonable response for maintenance and honest timelines (so even if things take time/time to arrive, you can plan)
- Very private / feels exclusive (most people don't know apartments are here)
- Quite, calm, scenic
- Safety
- Fair price,- luxury feel without the full price (even the studio)
- No cleanliness issues
- Cyclists will enjoy relative closeness to Bayshore (plus sidewalk leads to 2 lights for safe crossing which is better than almost every other apartment near by without lights or going through maze of streets)
- Walk-able at any hour around the unit
- Clean grounds

I absolutely love living here. I've been in my studio for 9 months and I just resigned my lease. I love the staff here, they are always friendly and willing to help me with whatever I need. They have always had great communication with their residents on any maintenance or general information announcements. The complex is clean and very well maintained. I have lived at Lighthouse By for 9 months no, and I have no complaints. The staff is very friendly and flexible and they have just added the option to pay online. I have had very few issues with property upkeep, and if I do, they are quick to respond and fix your problems same day. They have weekly pest control, and if you need pest control when they are not working on your building, they will come over and fix it- they helped me with a wasp problem I was having.
