Current resident and it’s been a nightmare
I’ve lived at The Collective at Upper West Side for over a year and would not recommend it, especially for the price.
Although it’s marketed as luxury, the construction quality doesn’t reflect that. My unit has ceiling cracks, cheap vinyl flooring that’s cracking, and poorly sealed windows with visible gaps that allow cold air, moisture, and even bugs inside. The dryer has been replaced but still doesn’t work properly due to venting issues. Even the quartz countertops appear poorly sealed and... are already deteriorating.
Property-wide, the gates and trash compactor are constantly breaking, parking can be difficult, and the property itself is not well maintained. Hallways and staircases are often dirty, and because it’s an open, hotel-style building, there’s an ongoing pest issue. The floors are hollow, so noise carries easily.
Management has been the most frustrating part—many services are outsourced, communication feels disorganized, and I haven’t been able to access the resident portal for 7–8 months without resolution. The leasing agent was friendly and professional, but overall management feels poorly structured.
The gym and pool are nice, but for the money, there are better-managed properties in Atlanta that offer more peace of mind. I hope this helps someone make an informed decision.
