Oak Creek Apartments

I wanted to commend a member of the maintenance staff at Oak Creek Apartments, Quinn Carter, for quickly and efficiently replacing my bathroom faucet and rebuilding the drain—and nothing leaks either. (With a name like Quinn Carter, it made me wonder if he was an actor, too.)

This apartment complex is safe there is always security around. They apartments are really nice and renovated! Maintenance is excellent and always fast. Great apartments!

Close to everything and managment excellent free laundry and good security.

Lived there for over 6 years, staff was VERY reasonable, and friendly with me. When problems came between pay days, let them know what's going on and they WILL work with you. When problems arose in my unit, maintenance came to address it within the day. Usually within the hour. They're aim is to provide affordable housing for low to mid income families, but they have ZERO tolerance for 'thugging and bugging'. You cause a disturbance, you're gone. Security have to come to address you too many… times within a set frame, or depending on the complaint, you're gone. Zero tolerance. Same for keeping your unit filthy as well. Maintenance comes by to check on smoke detectors and to change AC filters, and they take note if you're living nasty. In my years living there, I've went through 3 next door neighbors and 4 upstairs neighbors. All evicted for being loud, unruly, and filthy.

Keep in mind, there are a lot of trees around, so early morning and late night, you will see bugs around. Giant ones. If any make it in your unit, inform management and pest control will be there. If it frosts over like it did in 2011, you may become stranded in your unit because of steep hills, especially on management side. Because of trees in the area, during heavy rains, sometimes power may go out due to falling branches. I haven't seen a power outage last longer than 4 hours, and that was the entire block from Memorial Dr to the complex behind us at the 4 way stop sign.

I moved from here due to employment reasons and now am in TN, but if I were to ever move back to GA and Dekalb county, I'd come back to Oak Creek in a heartbeat. If you're an individual or family seeking housing with minimal neighborhood drama, look Oak Creek up. If you like noise, bring noise, have problems picking up after yourself, nosy, and have problems with authority, you might wanna move on. This isn't the place for you.
