Review for The Pointe Apartments - Cedar Rapids, IA (4.5/5 Stars)

Our experience living at The Pointe Apartments since August 2023 has been largely positive, and I wanted to share my thoughts for anyone considering making this their home.

First off, the application process was a breeze! It was quick and straightforward, and the application fee was quite reasonable compared to other apartments I've looked into. When it came time to renew the lease, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the rent increase was minimal—less than $30, but I can’t promise that’s… the experience every time.

The staff here have been fantastic. The women in the office are not only kind and approachable but also eager to help with any issues that arise. Maintenance also deserves a shoutout; they address any concerns promptly and courteously, making it easier to feel comfortable in my home. They have replaced appliances quickly when they were getting old, slow working.

The location is another big plus. Being just off the highway makes commuting a snap, and I love that Hy-Vee and Walmart are just minutes away. Additionally, there's a Kwik Star, CVS, and Wendy's around the corner, making convenience a strong point of living here. It is also located by a school and a daycare.

The only downside has to be the laundry facilities. Our complex has two washer, two dryers; they are older, smaller machines, and the cost can add up to about $20-$30 a month, depending on how much laundry you do. While it's manageable, it would be nice to have more updated options on site, the dream laundry inside apartments.

The Pointe Apartments offer a solid living affordable option in Cedar Rapids. While it’s always wise to stay aware of your surroundings, I believe this community offers a positive living environment, especially with the improvements being made around safety and neighborhood engagement.

Overall, I would rate The Pointe Apartments a solid 4.5 stars. If you're looking for a friendly community, convenient location, and responsive management, this place is definitely worth considering!

Wonderful place to live

I used to live here, had to leave because of family. This was the nicest apartment I ever had. I hope to move back! Everything was fantastic!

The Pointe

The apartments themselves are okay, but you can tell the buildings are aging, and things break down more often than they should. Noise from neighbors is also a problem, as the walls seem pretty thin.

NICE APARTMENTS

Every apartment I lived in had bad stuff but these apartments are unique they have 1 and 2-apartment townhomes with secured entrances and also the place is very secure and the staff is really friendly. And also some apartments are modern and some are not but that is better and also bigger trash dumpsters and nice yards.

I'm so disappointed

I was so excited to live here and loved my apartment for the first two days. Day three my neighbors cigarette smoke started coming through my bathroom vent stinking up the entire apartment. Management did nothing. I was told during my tour and when signing my lease I qualified for a free month only to be told when trying to redeem it that I don't get one. They tried to extend my lease to "help" the mistake THEY made. I have 5 months left and I think I might be moving out early. Also, no one… cleans after their dogs so there is poop EVERYWHERE don't wear nice shoes ever. Was told maintenance cleans it up...have never seen them. My building caught fire after it had snowed. No help with getting the smoke out of the building once we got the all clear and got told to "open a window" like it wasn't 30 degrees and since I can't miss work and have nowhere else to take them, I had to leave my pets there. I'm beyond mad and disappointed with this complex.
